Blue Distinction

We want you to have information to help you make informed medical care decisions when it comes to the health of you and your family. As part of the Blues’ plan to work with hospitals and doctors to improve the quality of care, the Blue Distinction® program was created to recognize facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality health care nationwide. Knowing which facility has been designated a Blue Distinction Center for Specialty Care may help you when seeking specialty care.

The goals of the Blue Distinction program are:

To help you identify health-care facilities that best meet your needs.
To encourage health-care facilities to improve the overall quality and delivery of health care, resulting in better overall outcomes for you.

Arkansas facilities, or facilities serving members in Arkansas, being recognized as Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care are:

	These centers are recognized for demonstrating their superior capabilities in providing a full range of cardiac care services. Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock Christus St Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas St Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro
	These centers are recognized for demonstrating their superior capabilities in providing a range of services for complex and rare cancer patients. University Hospital of Arkansas in Little Rock
	These centers are recognized for providing comprehensive inpatient knee and hip replacement services, including total knee replacement and total hip replacement surgeries. Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock
	These centers are recognized for providing comprehensive inpatient spine surgery services, including discectomy, fusion and decompression procedures. Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock
	These centers are recognized for demonstrating their commitment to quality care and capabilities in providing a range of services for nine transplant types resulting in better overall outcomes for transplant patients. Arkansas Childrens Hospital in Little Rock
