Personal Health Statements

Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield members now are receiving their new Personal Health Statements (PHS). The PHS replaced the traditional Explanation of Benefits (EOB) health care benefit statement.

Here are just some of the improvements:

• The PHS will be issued two times a month instead of every time a claim is filed.
• The PHS is more comprehensive than the EOB and designed to make claims processing easier to understand.
• Industry terms have been rewritten into everyday language, claims are more clearly explained, and you will know exactly your out-of-pocket costs (deductibles, copayments, coinsurance and more).
• The PHS gives more information about health benefits.
• A better description of the discounts you receive on your health care services.
• Information on how to get in touch with us.
• A quick understanding of how much you owe and to whom.
• Help in understanding the benefits you have and how they work.
